Happy Halloween!

Tonight was our final Halloween celebration--our ward party and trunk-or-treat.  Ty has been excited about this all week, and has told everyone that would listen how we was going to dress up as a fireman and McKay as a golfer.

The boys had a great time, and got/ate too much candy.  It's going to take some serious self-control on my part to stay out of it!

Small rant:  does it bother anyone else when the "tweeners" come around the parking lot 3 or 4 times at the ward trunk-or treat parties?  I mean, when you go trick-or-treating you don't go to the same house 3 or 4 times, so why is it ok to hit the same trunk that many times?  It irritates me.  In fact, I chased some obnoxious boys away from our car tonight who were doing just that.  I wasn't dressed as a witch, but I certainly could have passed for one!!

The Whole Gang is Here!

Saturday night we rounded out our weekend of Halloween celebrating with an adults progressive dinner/costume party with some friends from the Willow Creek Ward.  Our friends, Ben and Mel, had the great idea to dress up as the gang from Scooby Doo, and asked if we wanted to be Daphne and Fred.  We were totally in for that!

What a fun time it was!  The Brimhalls, Lewises, and Andersens know how to throw a serious party!

Then yesterday, we carved and decorated our pumpkins.  The boys stickered theirs.

Adam and I did a team effort on ours--he gutted and I carved.

We are just about Halloween-ed out!

Our Halloween Bash!

On Saturday morning we threw one of our first big parties.  It took quite a bit of planning and prep, but we thought it was a success!

We had a bean bag toss (Adam's masterpiece!),

A candy corn race,

Pin the head on the skeleton (Breea's masterpiece--thanks SO much!),

Cookie decorating...

(Woah, girl!)

...and eating;

Fabulous costumes,

And the big hit of the day, the doughnut eating contest!

Even some of the dads got in on it!

Oh, and the moms, too!

Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us!  We had so, so much fun, and we hope you did, too!

A Wicked Fun Weekend

We have had one of the most crazy fun weekends EVER!  We packed so much Halloween celebrating in this weekend that I don't think any of us will be too disappointed that we won't be trick-or-treating this year.  On Friday night, we went to a local pumpkin patch.  Saturday morning we hosted a party with some of our great friends in our ward here in Parker, and Saturday night we attended an adults-only party with friends from our ward in Centennial.  It was a ton to pack into 24-ish hours, but we totally loved it!
Due to the sheer volume of photos, I will probably have to post each of these events separately.  So, let's begin with Friday night at Flat Acres Farms.

There were rubber ducky races,

A hay bale maze,

All sorts of hay animals,

Face painting, which Ty was very nervous about initially,

but he loved the finished product!

A hay ride

The corn maze (which was dinky compared to Thanksgiving Point or Chatfield, but PERFECT for a 3-year-old!),

A petting zoo with calves, kids, lambs, and bunnies (Mac's favorite!),

And boxes of corn for the kids to swim/jump/play in!

There were also bounce houses to play on, a snake tunnel to go through, and a little haunted house and cemetery (which we opted out of since we thought it would freak out our kids).

And at the end of the night, the boys got to pick out their own pumpkins!

This was SUCH a fun family activity, and we have decided that as long as we are in Parker and this is in Parker, it will be an annual Marchant family tradition!

Karate Chop!

Ok, ok, this post actually has nothing to do with karate.  But it does have something to do with a chop.  Specifically, my hair.  I didn't take a before picture, but you can compare it to our header.  That photo was taken on July 4th, so it was probably even an inch or two longer than that before I got it cut.  It's definitely a welcome change.

Last night at 9:30 or 10 PM, I was lounging comfortably on the couch watching Biggest Loser when I heard what sounded like a muffled cry coming from Ty's room.  I went to investigate, and was alarmed to find his bed vacant!  Upon closer inspection, I noticed a little foot protruding from under the bed skirt.

He had rolled off his bed, rolled under the bed, and somehow managed to turn himself perpendicular to the direction of the bed!  At least I had the presence of mind to snap a quick photo before rescuing him! :)  As I lifted him off the ground after pulling him out he let out a loud snore!  He never even cracked an eye during the whole ordeal!  If only I was able to sleep so soundly!

18 Months Old...

...and off to nursery!!

That grin says it all--this is a great day for ALL of us!

I ran 20 miles this week, plus one day of weight-lifting, the most I have done in a week since early June.  I am starting to get back into the habit of running five times a week, and I'm feeling the itch to run in a race again.  Maybe a Turkey Trot?
Does anybody know of a great half marathon/relay race/triathlon (nothing longer than an Olympic!) in either Colorado or Utah in the spring or early summer?  I am looking for one last hurrah before we start thinking about trying for another baby.

One of my favorite things

Kids in footie jammies!

Yesterday I went through the boys' closets and boxed up most of their shorts, and I pulled out some colder weather clothes.  I don't know what it is about those footie pajamas, but when my boys are in them, I just want to squeeze the dickens out of them!
