We are (almost) Homeowners!!

After a long and grueling search, we finally found the right place!  Adam and I are in the process of buying a home in Parker.  We have already gotten our offer accepted and had an inspection.  We close in just a little over two weeks!  We are so excited!

This is the street view of the home.  I love the mature landscaping, but the yard is pretty overgrown. We are going to need to trim that tree back so you can actually see the front of the house.

So, it is a 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home.  It has an unfinished basement, so we will have lots of room for storage and the possibility to finish it for more living space later.  I am so excited to finally have a place of our own!

This one's for McKay

I was realizing today how very little I blog about McKay.  I have taken far less pictures of him than I did when Ty was a baby, too.  Diagnosis:  a bad case of second child syndrome!  To help remedy that, this post is all about him!

This is something that he has been doing tons recently.  When he gets tired, he sucks his right thumb, and then uses his left arm to cover his eyes.  It's darn cute, and he can put himself to sleep so quickly this way.  I love that!

We sure love having this little guy as part of our family!

The Biggest Loser

My second pregnancy was far different than my first.  One of the major differences was in my diet and exercise regime.  I had SUCH a healthy pregnancy with Ty; with McKay, not so much.  As a result, after Mac was born, I was left with tons of excess weight and a long battle ahead to lose it!  When a group of women in our ward decided to start a "Biggest Loser" program, I thought it would be the perfect way to get myself motivated.  Our competition lasted 12 weeks, with a weigh-in each week just like they do on the show.  Our final weigh-in was today, and I lost 15 pounds in 12 weeks!  I know that that's not an astronomical number, but I feel really good about it.  I changed my lifestyle dramatically while doing this competition.  I get up between 6 and 6:30 each morning and go running before my family is up.  12 weeks ago (3 weeks after McKay was born), it took me 36 minutes and 11 seconds to run three miles.  On Friday, I ran 3 miles in 28:25.  I have really changed the way I eat, too.  My clothes fit better, and I feel WAY better, which is the most important thing.  I am not back to my pre-pregnancy weight yet, but this experience has given me the confidence that I will be able to get there.  In the mean time, I think I am going to use the money I won to buy myself a new swimsuit!

I have been meaning to post these pictures from our Utah trip for quite some time now, but haven't.  Adam's parents got these "Marchant University" shirts made for everyone for the summer games.  It was pretty fun.

There have been/will be FOURTEEN babies born in our ward this year.  No, this is not a BYU married student ward!  We just all decided to have babies at the same time!  Here are a few of them at church on Sunday.  McKay would not wake up, darn him.  I think he looks tons like my brother, Matt, in this picture.

Here are the boys getting ready for a double diaper change.  We do this multiple times a day.  I lay them both down and do them both at once.  It makes it so I don't feel like I am changing diapers all day long.

And here they are invading our bed.  It's a good thing they have their own beds, right?!

Mini Golf

Last night was one of those rare times that we had nothing planned and no place to be.  We decided to take a little family outing to go miniature golfing.  It was interesting to golf one-handed, as I couldn't comfortably get two hands on the golf club with McKay strapped to my front.  Adam ended up winning big, and I was actually ok with that!  Ty had the most fun of all.  He cried all the way home for his yellow golf ball that disappeared down hole 18.

And can I just say that I LOVE it!  Most parents don't want their kids to suck their thumbs, but I am a big fan.  It has turned McKay from a pretty fussy, high-maintenance baby into a very easy one!  Every time he starts to get fussy now, he pops the thumb in his mouth, and our problems are solved.  Besides, I think it's stinking cute!  Ty did the same thing at about this age, and he quit when he got teeth so I never had to break him of the habit.  Let's hope I get that lucky the second time around!

Mess!

I still have a few pictures to post from our Utah trip. This is what happens when we go to Grammie's house:

My mom taught Ty how to say, "I love fudge," when he was 18 months old. Now every time he talks to her on the phone, that phrase is the first thing out of his mouth!

This is a great Marchant family tradition. Every fourth of July, Adam's younger brother, Spencer, throws a cream pie in Adam's face! I'm not sure exactly how that got started, but it has been going on for many years! Since we weren't going to be around on the fourth, Spencer got Adam the night before we left to head back to Colorado. It was great! :) When Ty came into the room and saw Adam with cream all over his head, he looked at him and said, "Mess!" We tried to re-create it on video, but you have to listen closely to hear Ty.
