We're home, and Grammie's gone

Well, we are home from the hospital and trying to adjust to our new life as a family of four!  My mom, who has been here staying with Ty, flew out this afternoon.  I miss her already!  She has SAVED MY LIFE this week!  Besides planning all sorts of fun activities for Ty to do while I was in the hospital, she cleaned the whole house top to bottom, and even took the baby in the night when I needed sleep.  I am nervous to do this without her!  Before she left, I got some pictures from her that she took while she was here.

Grammie brought Easter eggs and hid them for Ty to find.  Lots of them had dollars inside!

I'm rich!

Aaarg!!

We left the hospital yesterday afternoon.  There was a huge storm that had been going on since Thursday afternoon when McKay was born.  We got TONS of snow.  I thought I was going to have a Spring baby!  We had to bundle little Mac up really well to get him home in the cold!

So Little!

And finally, here is a video of McKay's first few minutes that I got downloaded today.

He is Here!!

We are thrilled to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, McKay Stephen Marchant!! He arrived yesterday, April 16, on a rainy afternoon, at 4:36 PM. The labor and delivery process went as well as can be expected. We are just so happy that he is here! Unlike Ty, who was calm and mellow from the moment of birth, this guy came out screaming! I guess he felt like he had to make his presence known since he was #2! He weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and measured 19 inches long. He is absolutely perfect in every way, and I am completely in love!!

Just a funny note, I found this picture of Tyler that was taken at some point during his first day on earth, and I think it looks identical to McKay, down to what my brother calls their "Harry Potter" birthmarks on their foreheads! I mean, seriously, could this not be the same kid? The only difference between the two (which is not evident in this photo) was that Ty had red hair, and McKay is blonde.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  In my opinion, this is the most important day of the entire year.  If Christ had not been resurrected, even his birth would have meant little.  I am grateful to have this day to celebrate His Atonement and resurrection!
We had to wake Ty up early this morning for our Easter festivities so that we could make it to church on time (we were still late, by the way!).  Though he was still half asleep, he had a fun time finding the Easter eggs the bunny had hidden around the living room.  He was especially impressed with the new Hot Wheels cars he found in his Easter basket.  Shoot, if a 97 cent car can bring so much joy to my little boy, I might have to get him more of those!
We were able to continue our celebration this evening by having Easter dinner with some great friends in our ward.  We had a great holiday!!
Only three more days til baby day!

Another Update

Well, Baby Brother has not yet made his debut, and I am mostly ok with that.  Though I am enormous and uncomfortable, I am not nearly as anxious to get this guy out as I was with Ty. Mostly, I want my mom to get here before I have him so that Ty has some stability in his life instead of being passed around among friends while I am in the hospital.  She arrives next Tuesday, so anytime after that will be great!  I am going to be induced next Thursday if the baby does not arrive sooner.  That means in 10 days max we will have two kids.  Crazy!!
We have narrowed down the name choices considerably, but are still not dead set on one.  I added a poll to see what everyone else thinks his name should be.  Honestly, it probably won't influence our decision, but I am just curious to see what other people like!
Ty is growing up more and more every day!  Here are a couple of cute pictures I took at playgroup recently:

Sleeping in the "big boy bed" is still a work in progress.  I finally got so tired of fighting Ty to stay in bed at naptime that I relegated him back to the crib for his nap.  He does pretty well at staying in bed at night for the most part.  A couple of weeks ago, I put him to bed, and then went to check on him about 30 or 40 minutes later.  I hadn't heard any noises at all, so I assumed he was asleep.  I went into his bedroom, and he was sitting by his night-light with a huge stack of books reading to himself!  After that experience, we haven't used the night-light anymore!  It has seemed to help that he can't see anything in his room, but then last week, I found him like this when I went in to check on him:

Yep, he can't open his door yet, so he just curled up directly in front of it and fell asleep. Honestly, most nights aren't like this, but occasionally, he does something to surprise us.  He certainly keeps life interesting!
